After some time in the financial and consulting world, I'm looking to make the transition to full-time IT consulting. As such, I think it suitable to title my opening blog post on my website: "Hello World!"

My name is Andrew Sirianni and I am located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. I work primarily on LAMP systems (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) but work on a broad range of projects from UX Design, right through to server management and hardware. My background includes Accounting, Management Consulting, Business Brokerage and Real Estate qualifications and has prepared me well to understand both the business and technical sides of system development - essentially allowing me to work as a translator between business and technical stakeholders.

Despite my years being focussed on business brokerage, real estate and management consulting, I have often relied on my IT skills; providing a good basis for my work and an enabler for processes and management. And a staple of my use of IT has been Search Engines. Using Search Engines I have often found articles and "how to" pieces to assist me in achieving a result for a client or even for my own developments. I hope that through this blog I can re-create some of the tips and techniques that I have found useful over the years.

It is my aim that the articles in this blog can "give back" to the community that has provided me with so much insight and knowledge over the years.
